Como ya adelantamos hace un tiempo, el canal americano ABC aprobó el piloto de una nueva versión en forma de serie de la mítica Charlie's angels. Aunque se desconocen todos los detalles del proyecto, se acaba de hacer oficial las tres actrices principales que cogerán el testigo de Lucy Liu, Drew Barrymore y Cameron Diaz, que llevaron a las ángeles a la gran pantallas en dos películas. Las nuevas actrices no son del todo desconocidas por la audiencia del país.
Annie Ilonzeh (a la izquierda de la imagen) ha aparecido en Entourage, Melrose Place (versión del 2010) y en General Hospital.
Rachel Taylor (la de la derecha) se la ha visto en la primera película de Transformes.
Y a Minka Kelly (en el centro) en Friday Night Lights y en Parenthood.
Hasta otoño del 2011 no sabremos que tal irá la serie, ni se sabe de forma oficial los demás actores que intervendrán, ni la voz de Charlie.
La serie original se emitió desde septiembre de 1976 a junio de 1981, lanzando a la fama a Farrah Fawcet, que la abandonaría en la segunda temporada, y se llegó a convertir en un icono de la cultura pop.
Durante las sucesivas temporadas fueron entrando y saliendo ángeles por la marcha de las actrices buscando oportunidades en el cine.
La serie trataba sobre tres espías recién salidas de la academía de policía, que eran contratadas por Charlie, un misterioso agente al que nunca habían visto (ni el espectador), y que les asignaba misiones en las que terminaban disfrazándose o mostrándose diferentes habilidades.
En el 2000 se estrenó la película basada en la serie protagonizada por Cameron Diaz, Drew Barrymore y Lucy Liu consiguiendo una buena taquilla.
En el 2003 salió la secuela con la incorporación de Demi Moore, pero que no logró repetir las buenas cifras de la primera.
Se especuló sobre una tercera entrega, y después sobre una nueva saga de películas con diferente reparto, pero por lo que vemos, las ángeles volverán a su medio inicial, y ya veremos donde terminan.
