HBO CONFIRMA FECHAS DE ESTRENOS Y NUEVOS PROYECTOS


HBO, el canal de cable americano que ha producido con series como Los Soprano, ha confirmado las fechas de estreno de su esperada nueva serie histórica y de una película con Kate WInslet.


La serie es Game of Thrones (Juego de Tronos) , adaptación de de la saga de novelas de George R. Martin. La historia cuenta como hace mucho tiempo, en un tiempo olvidado, un evento sobrenatural hizo que las estaciones temporales quedaran fuera de lugar. En una tierra donde los veranos pueden durar décadas y los inviernos pueden hacerse eternos, y donde comenzarán los problemas. El frío vuelve, y en las frías tierras de Invernalia, fuerzas siniestras y sobrenaturales se están concentrando más allá del muro protector del reino.

En verano se lanzaron promos donde se intuía como sería el aspecto de la serie, muy propio de HBO, con una fotografía trabajada y una gran dirección. El protagonista es Sean Bean, conocido por The Lord of the Rings (El señor de los anillos), que interpreta al cabeza de la família Starks of Winterfell.

El estreno será el 17 de abril, coincidiendo además con Camelot, serie histórica del canal Starz que también se estrena en abril.

Pero HBO no solo se compone de series, sino que también hace grandes películas con actores conocidos de Hollywood (Al Pacino, Dustin Hoffman etc...), y el 27 de marzo será Kate Winslet (Titanic) la que protagonice la nueva producción del canal. 

Se trata de Mildred Pierce adaptación de la novela de 1942, escrita por James M. Cain. La novela nos traslada a Los Ángeles de los años 30, época de la Gran Depresión, y cuenta la historia de una madre y sus hijas que luchan por subir de escalón social y a la vez de los problemas que le da su hija Violet.

La novela ya fue adaptada al cine, consiguiendo un Oscar para Joan Crawford en 1945.
En el reparto, además de Winslet están Evan Rachel Wood (True Blood, Across the Universe), Melissa Leo (21 Grams y The Fighter) y Guy Pierce (L.A. Confidential, Memento, The Hurt Locker). 
Una clara candidata a los Emmys y Golden Globes.


Además de sus estrenos, el canal ha confirmado que ha dado luz verde a una nueva comedia llamada Girls, que trata sobre unas veinteañeras de Nueva York
