Los Britney-fans estarán de enhorabuena con el retorno de la dudosamente proclamada princesa del pop, y es que tras su último álbum de estudio Circus (2008) solo supimos de ella por medio de noticias que poco o nada tenían que ver con su carrera musical, o por su último recopilatorio lanzado en el 2009 The singles collection cuyo sencillo "3" fue un rotundo éxito... que por otra parte se desinfló mas rápido que un globo en un campo de cactus.
Sea como sea, empieza una nueva década y Britney estrena álbum del cual ya podemos escuchar su primer single, que por cierto será presentado oficialmente esta misma madrugada en EEUU.
Tras una primera escucha, una segunda y una tercera... la conclusión es negativa.
La canción es pesada, tiene una base discotequera que se convierte en su peor lastre tras el primer minuto de canción, una letra mas simple que un puzzle de dos piezas y un ritmo cuyo bridge (momento previo al estribillo, cuya intención principal es la promesa de un ascenso rítmico) es precisamente el estribillo, un bajón de fuerza absolutamente demoledor y cuyo efecto convierte Hold it against me en un primer single fallido.
La canción comienza con el mencionado beat, demasiado denso y consistente, que obliga a la canción a respirar en un estribillo que ni siquiera puede bailarse (a no ser que sea revolcándose indignamente por el suelo cual cerdo en el barro) deteniendo el ritmo en el preciso instante en el que esperamos un crecimiento que haga vibrar definitivamente el tema, pero no ocurre, lo cual no puede ser peor para una canción de estas características.
Hold it Against me es un quiero y no puedo cuyo ritmo y sonido dista mucho de ser original y prometedor, no hay evolución, no hay cambios, no hay personalidad y de nuevo queda patente que Britney es una diva cuyo éxito revela la cruel realidad de una estrella moldeada sin alma ni corazón, cuyas canciones son rotundos éxitos y clásicos atemporales con el nombre de una cantante que podría haber sido cualquier otra, y cuyo fondo no pertenece a nadie. Britney es uno de los más claros iconos de la cultura pop, de la masificación musical, de la perdida de la identidad del artista y de la sublevación del mismo contra un mundo mercantil y monopolizado por el dinero, en el que estás por encima, o quedas aplastado. Britney está aplastada por su propio contexto y Hold it Against me no supone ni una revolución musical, ni evolución en el propio estilo del artista o crecimiento personal.
Una lástima.

After the first listening, a second and the third one ... the conclusion is negative. The song is weighed, it has a disco base that turns into his worst ballast after the first minute of song, a letter simpler than a puzzle of two pieces and a rhythm which bridge (moment before to the refrain, which principal intention is the promise of a rhythmic ascent) is precisely the refrain, an absolutely devastating bassoon of force and whose effect turns Hold it against me into the first frustrated single.
Beat begins the song with mentioned, too densely and consistent, that forces to the song to breathe in a refrain who cannot even be danced (unless one is knocking which pig down unworthily for the soil in the mud) stopping the rhythm in the precise moment in which we wait for a growth that should make vibrate definitively the topic, but it does not happen, which cannot be worse for a song of these characteristics.
Hold it Against me is one I want and cannot whose rhythm and sound is distant from being very much original and promising, there is no evolution, there are no changes, there is no personality and again it remains clear that Britney is a prima donna whose success reveals neither the cruel reality of a star molded without soul nor heart, which songs are round successes and classic atemporales with the name of a singer who might have been any other one, and which fund does not belong to anybody. Britney is one of the clearest icons of the culture pop, of the musical overcrowding, of the loss of the identity of the artist and of the uprising of the same one against a world mercantile and monopolized by the money, in which you are superficially, or you remain beaten.
Britney is squashed by his own context and Hold it Against supposes me neither a musical revolution, nor evolution in the proper style of the artist or personal growth.
