Ben Stiller ha confirmado que se encuentra actualmente rodando la secuela de Zoolander, comedia dirigida y escrita por él, nacida a partir de un personaje creado por él para MTV, que al tener mucho éxito terminó protagonizando su propia película.
Zoolander se estrenó en el 2001 como un parodia del mundo de la moda, dejando en bastante mal lugar al mundillo de los modelos. Al estilo de Torrente, durante la película se sucedieron numerosos cameos de famosos que beneficiaron a la publicidad del film.
Ben Stiller fue el artífice de tan divertida película que se convirtió en obra de culto para muchos por su humor incorrecto, rápido y su estética sin igual.
Hace unos meses ya se comentó la idea de realizar la secuela, que no estaría dirigida por Stiller, pero terinó cancelándose sin explicar los motivos. Pero por sorpresa, el propio actor ha confirmado hoy mismo la noticia.
Según Stiller será más divertida que la primera (pero ya sabemos que eso siempre se dice y no siempre se cumple ), y la acción se desarrollará en Europa 10 años después. Stiller ha co-escrito el guión, y ha dejado la silla de director a Justin Theroux (que como actor hemos visto en Six Feet Under y American Psycho, pero como dicrector de momento no ha destacado mucho, tiene una tv movie y una película titulada Dedication, con buenas críticas en general).
Sobre los actores, el único confirmado es Owen Wilson que volverá como protagonista junto a Zoolander. Y suponemos que también volverá Christine Taylor (The Brady Bunch Movie), por ser la esposa de Ben Stiller en la vida real.
