AMC, the channel of Mad Men, has already come to an agreement with the creator and the director of this one, Mathew Winer, after months of negotiations where the chain was putting in predicaments the director for lowing the price of costs dismissing actors, diminishing duration of episodes, which he wants to say that they were putting hand in the series and that his director did not want to withstand.
So one has come to the agreement of which the first and last episode of the period they will last 47 minutes as till now, whereas the rest will be 45 minutes as he was asking for the chain. The biggest fear of Mathew was the dismissal of actors and as good producer, the production managed to fit only to dismiss for creative and not financial motives, and it seems that it has obtained it. The bad of the actors is that his contracts will last up to the sixth period and they would have to renew for the seventh and last one, that if the chain keeps on making the production difficult, would have serious problems to have all the wished actors.
But till then the director has won, 30 millions will be pocketed by three periods that remain of the series and at the moment it has all the protagonists with him.
The negotiations have done that the fifth period is late from summer of 2011 at the beginning of 2012.
We do not understand the motive for which AMC makes difficult so much the life of the series that has made him gain prestige and recognition, raising his hearings that till then were not wonderful at all and helping to that it has major aftereffect, as with his premiere of this year The Walking Dead, which has beaten the records of the chain. It is as if Fox was making difficult the production of American Idol and Glee.
And not only in hearings and awards it has been a phenomenon Mad Men, but it has entered the world of the publicity and of the cinema infecting of the aesthetics of the series in posters and fashion shows.
